The Carnegie Collective will help us further develop the project to turn this into a vibrant 3rdspace for the community

Joining Carnegie Crosby Collective is a way to show your support for our plans AND your chance to contribute your ideas and take some ownership in decision making as we move forwards into our development and delivery of the project.

At this stage, membership of the Carnegie Crosby Collective is open – but we will specifically looking for regular volunteers who can help us by joining 4 initial Ideas Panels:

Carnegie Crosby Funding Ideas Panel

Remit of Chair: Recruit 3-6 members to fulfil the aims of the Working Group

Aim: to support the development of the project by:

  •  indentifying the key potential funders for the capital and then revenue elements of the project, in-line with the capital programme requirements as outlined by Regenerus
  • Drafting or overseeing the drafting of funding applications and supporting documents

Carnegie Crosby Collective Heritage Ideas Panel

Remit of Chair: Recruit 3-6 members to fulfil the aims of the Working Group

Aim: to maximise the heritage potential of the building by:

  • Mapping the physical and social heritage of the Carnegie Crosby building and its relationship to the local community
  • Explore the ways in which the heritage of the Carnegie legacy and the specific building can be communicated to visitors (in person,  online and in print)
  •  Identify links between Carnegie Crosby and other listed buildings, peoples’ heritage, industrial heritage in the city region

Carnegie Crosby Collective Activities Ideas Panel

Remit of Chair: Recruit 3-6 members to fulfil the aims of the Working Group

Aim: to develop the Activities Programme and earned income for Carnegie Crosby by:

  • Identifying organisations that will make long-term, on-going bookings to use space and run activities
  • Producing evidenced and costed recommendations to the Project Team for an Activities Programme to be run in Carnegie Crosby including Book Exchange, IT access etc
  • Marketing Carnegie Crosby project to potential future users

Carnegie Crosby Collective External landscape Ideas Panel

Aim: to develop the outside area of the Carnegie Crosby by:

  •  Developing a coherent plan for how the external space can be used by different members/ groups of the community
  •  Developing outline designs for the space in line with any heritage, protection or listings requirements

Our first meeting is to set up these Ideas Panels and get going on the detail of the vision  – if you can come along, we would love to see you.  Please complete our Eventbrite Booking Form as numbers are limited.   If you can’t make it, but want to be involved in some way – please let us know.

Once the building is open we hope that the Carnegie Crosby Collective will continue to input into the ongoing management of the centre.  At that stage we intend to introduce a small membership subscription fee and introduce new tiers with specific benefits including discounts on room bookings and the café and help with the ongoing running of the centre.
